March Welcomes "Eggs-travagant" Events at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

Destin, Fla. (Feb. 12, 2008) – Spring is in the air at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, where popular annual events and daily outdoor activities plant seeds for a colorful couple of months. As warmer weather creeps in, the ever popular Wednesday Night Concert Series and Bluegrass by the Beach music festival, make soaking up the spring sun easier than ever. With St. Patrick’s Day and Easter celebrations, Sandestin continues to be your one stop for family fun.

EVENTS AT GRAND BOULEVARD
Welcome spring with a taste of something different. Sample a new, hand-selected brand of wine at Sandestin Wine World’s weekly wine tasting beginning at 5 p.m. each Friday (March 7, 14, 21 and 28) at Grand Boulevard, Sandestin. Expert staff will also be on site to provide tips and answer questions. The cost is $10 per person that includes a $5 rebate toward the purchase of featured wines. Kitchenique Cooking Class
Kitchenique Cooking School Director Vickie McCain hosts themed cooking classes on March 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, 19, 20, 26, 28 and 29 featuring local, regional and touring chefs demonstrating the art of cooking. Celebrity chefs this month include Christopher Holbrook of Another Broken Egg Café; Joseph Bonanno of Firehouse Fitness; Bruce McAdoo of Seagar’s; and Kathy Fly-Bridges of Southern Wine & Spirits. Meet the Artist at Donna Burgess Gallery
Meet Beaches of South Walton 2008 Artist of the Year, Donna Burgess, in her gallery at The Market Shops at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, between noon and 3 p.m. each Wednesday (March 5, 12, 19 and 26). Donna Burgess Watercolor Workshop
Join Donna Burgess for a three-day seminar on Thursday, March 6 through Saturday, March 8 to learn the techniques of watercolor painting at the Donna Burgess Gallery at The Market Shops at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Bluegrass by the Beach
Bluegrass by the Beach returns to The Market Shops at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort on Friday, March 21 and Saturday, March 22 at 6 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively. Bluegrass by the Beach features authentic live Bluegrass bands from throughout the region and is sure to be a toe-tapping, foot-stomping musical experience the whole family will love. Easter Cupcake Decorating at Kitchenique
Vicki McCain, Kitchenique Cooking School director, leads a special Easter class that the whole family will enjoy. Learn to make Rabbit cupcakes, Butterfly cupcakes, Easter Chick cupcakes and a lot more. McCain and her staff will have Carrot Cake, Chocolate, Red Velvet, Lemon Poppyseed, Orange and Coconut cupcakes already baked for your artistic touch. EVENTS AT THE VILLAGE OF BAYTOWNE WHARF
Sing along to the sounds of Coconut Radio, The Village of Baytowne Wharf’s house band, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (March 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30) at 6:30 p.m. Playing family favorites all throughout the spring, Coconut Radio is known for inviting members of the crowd to sing, dance and play instruments along with the band. Wednesday Night Concert Series

Northwest Florida Golf Cart Dealers Show
The Village of Baytowne Wharf hosts the Northwest Florida Golf Cart Dealers Show, where four of the top golf cart dealers will bring the showroom to the Village to display their newest models and answer questions. The Northwest Florida Golf Cart Dealers Show will take place on Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16 from noon to 6 p.m. Special activities for children will also be available. This fun-for-the-whole-family event will also feature child-friendly games and photos with Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny. The Easter egg hunt will cater to various age groups ranging from toddlers to age 12 and include hidden golden eggs representing special prizes and discounts for future family outings.
