Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort Group Sales Manager Penny Jackson Receives Jim Root Distinguished Service Award

Released on Thursday, December 27, 2007

Destin, Fla. – (Dec. 27, 2007) –   Group Sales Manager Penny Jackson at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort has been recognized for her work with the Alabama Council of Association Executives (ACAE). ACAE President Boyd Kelly presented her with the Jim Root Distinguished Service Award during the annual ACAE Convention for "ultimate professionalism and willingness to serve above and beyond."

Jackson, a 10-year veteran of the tourism and hospitality industry, has quickly established herself and Sandestin as a preferred partner among many association executives in Alabama. Jackson served on the ACAE Board of Directors in 2005 and 2006 and participated in the group’s silent auction committee.

"It is people like Penny Jackson who live by Sandestin values every day that make the Sandestin experience wonderful for both our guests and staff," said Rob Babcock, vice president and general manager of Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. "We are proud to have her on our team."

Jackson works tirelessly to secure meetings and conferences from businesses, groups and organizations throughout Alabama. She was also instrumental in hosting the ACAE Convention at Sandestin in 2003, as well as the first-ever Tri-State Convention for ACAE, the Louisiana Society of Association Executives (LSAE) and the Mississippi Society of Association Executive (MSAE) in 2006.

The group sales team at Sandestin was also recognized by Corporate & Incentive Travel magazine with the 2007 Award of Excellence. The Florida-based publication recognizes the top meeting resorts and conference centers annually for exceptional service and quality facilities.

Sandestin has earned this award five times in the past six years and regularly receives significant industry awards such as the Gold Key and Gold Tee awards from Meetings & Conventions magazine and the Best of the South Award from Meetings South magazine, to name a few.
