Inaugural Baytowne Wharf Beerfest at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort this October

Destin, Fla.– Get them while you can. Tickets to the inaugural Baytowne Wharf Beer Fest at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, October 24 through 26, are now on sale at special discounted prices.

Advance tickets are available at http://www.xorbia.com/tickets/sandestinbeerfestival/ for $30 per person or $50 per person for two days.  “Day Of” tickets are $35 per person for one day and $60 per person for both Saturday and Sunday.

The Baytowne Wharf Beer Fest at Sandestin is the only one of its kind in Okaloosa and Walton counties. At the festival, beer lovers can travel the Village sampling and savoring hard-to-find specialty beers.

More than 40 breweries, including award-winning DogFish Head, will be onsite for the weekend. Brewers and representatives from across the county will be under white tents tapping the keg to serve up future and seasonal beers. Craft beer tastings will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.

“The beauty of craft beef festivals is that beer lovers can treat themselves to a new taste that they are not likely to sample anywhere else,” said John Lasseter of Goldring Gulf Distributors – a local partner to the event. “Then, they can find the places that serve the brand they want to experience more of or stock up with cases straight from the brewer.”

“This is a sophisticated beer festival focused on taste, uniqueness and learning,” said Cindy Good, event manager for the Baytowne Wharf Neighborhood Association. “Beer may not have the same stigma wine does, but it too, can be paired with foods and different flavors can be pulled from each season and brand. This beer fest is meant to teach adults how to appreciate specialty beer, much like the wine festival.”

Completing the Beer Fest is a host of activities, pairing dinners and live entertainment. Making their way to Sandestin for the weekend from Mobile, Ala. is the Modern El Dorado, a well-traveled and highly followed rock band.

After sampling, pick up your favorites tastes at the retail tent at Lumpy’s Wine Bar and Bottle Shop. The retail tent will be open on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 8 p.m. Don’t let the name fool you completely, Lumpy’s Wine Bar stocks many of the specialty beers available at the Baytowne Wharf Beef Fest year round. Be sure to visit whenever you are at Sandestin.

Drink responsibly and stay close to the action of the Beer Fest with rates from $169 per night. One-bedroom units are available as well from $189. The rates above include accommodations for two adults, two-day admission to the festival and a Beer Lovers private reception on Friday, Oct. 24.

Partial proceeds from the Baytowne Wharf Beer Fest ticket sales will be donated to the Fisher House of the Emerald Coast, supporting America’s Military, Veterans and their families during a medical crisis.
