Sandestin Golf And Beach Resort Announces Mid-Year Wedding Report
Popular Beach Wedding Destination Celebrates with Bridal Giveaway

Destin, FL (July 19, 2011) – Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, the #1 Resort on Florida’s Emerald Coast today announced its mid-year wedding report for 2011. This popular Florida beach wedding destination is reporting double the number of weddings and receptions booked in the first seven months of this year compared to the entire 2010 wedding season.
Not only is love in the air at Sandestin, but so is the excitement with the announcement of Angela Gaff as the new beach wedding manager, a Bridal Bouquet Giveaway and so much more.

“There are many similarities with this season and the actual planning process of a wedding,” said Barbara Miller, special event manager for Sandestin. “So much effort has been put into our weddings over the last year and as we sit in the height of our wedding season our team is nothing but smiles with all of the beautiful weddings we have scheduled along with the nice brides, grooms, and families we look forward to hosting.”

Something Old
Sandestin has long been a favorite wedding destination for brides not only because Sandestin hosts the largest selection of wedding venues on Florida’s Emerald Coast from the beach to the bay, but also for the experience and quality that the on-site wedding professionals are renowned for. The staff at Sandestin knows how important weddings are and can assist in creating a stress-free and memorable wedding and reception. The resort also provides a central gathering place for families and friends to share the wedding day while enjoying the other luxurious amenities Sandestin has to offer.

Something New
With the increased demand of the area, there is something to be said about weddings at Sandestin this year. Adding to the excitement is the newly announced Angela Gaff to the Sandestin wedding team.
Destination beach weddings are the most popular venue Sandestin offers because of the beautiful emerald waters and the soft and white sandy beaches. With the demand for beach weddings at an all-time high this year, Gaff’s background in event planning has allowed for a smooth transition and the dedication to serving her brides is evident.
“We have had stunning weather this year and the beach has never looked more pristine,” said Angela Gaff, weddings and special event manager for Sandestin. “There is no better feeling than to know your bride is happy on her special day,” added Gaff.

Something Borrowed
Actually, Sandestin is giving a wedding gift brides won’t have to give back. Sandestin has teamed up with preferred vendor Bella Florato to provide brides the chance to win a free bridal bouquet valued at $150. Brides-to-be are encouraged to register by commenting on Sandestin’s wedding blog as to why they chose Sandestin as their dream wedding venue.  Giveaway ends July 30, 2011.

Something Blue or Something that’s Truly You
In an area hailed by Frommer’s for its sugar-fine, white sand, the 2,400-acre resort is unique in that it offers access to both the blue-green frolic of the Gulf of Mexico and the calm of nearby Choctawhatchee Bay.  It’s no secret that Sandestin’s beautiful blue ocean and white beaches is the initial draw but what sets Sandestin weddings apart from any other location on the Emerald Coast is the array of options from the beach to the bay.

Imagine a sugary-white beach as your carpet and the sound of waves as your orchestra, or graceful lawns located at the Grand Sandestin that inspire an elegant garden wedding. Create a whimsical fairytale in one of the three elegant ballrooms – Bayview Room, Magnolia Ballroom or Azalea Ballroom, or captivate your guests with an amazing sunset ceremony overlooking the bay on Sandestin’s Bayview Terrace.

Sandestin offers a vast selection of venue options for every event including – ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner. Even bridesmaid’s luncheons and departure breakfasts can be arranged on-site. With so many options to choose from, it’s easy to create the perfect experience.

In addition, Sandestin is one of the most romantic places on the Emerald Coast – from honeymoons to getting married or in some cases even popping the question.

John and Rachel Watkins from Tulsa, OK have now made Sandestin a tradition after John proposed to Rachel last July 14 at a church retreat held at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.  The couple came back to Sandestin this July for their honeymoon and when asked what made Sandestin so special, they said, “It’s the one trip we look forward to every year.  Sandestin’s white, sandy beach is different than any other beach we have seen and it’s our favorite place to be on the resort.”
