SANDESTIN WINE FESTIVAL PROVIDES PERFECT GETAWAY TO UNCORK SOME FUN IN THE SUN

Destin, Fla (April 2014) - Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort announces details for the 28th Annual Sandestin Wine Festival, the most established and continuously running wine festival on the Coast.

Slated for April 10-13, the Sandestin Wine Festival is known as the “Kentucky Derby of Wine Festivals.” It will be a picture perfect event complete with white tents, the tasting of hundreds of wines, culinary treats and live music.

Now in its 28th year, guests are invited to “uncork some fun in the sun,” and see why the Sandestin Wine Festival receives accolades from media around the country.

Four days of unique events will include the following:  

Thursday, April 10
Wine Dinner at Marlin Grill
Indulge in culinary delights with Dinner for Two with a Flight of Wine.  Share three courses paired with wines from around the world. First course is a Caesar salad for two with a half size bottle of Au Bon Climant “La Bauge” Pinot Noir. Main course features The Marlin Grill Fish Medley accompanied by medallions of beef tenderloin and half size bottle of Stags Leap “Artemis” Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. A choice of dessert to share paired with half size bottle of Nicolas Feuillatte Blue Label Champagne. Call 850.351.1990 for reservations.

Wine Dinner at Poppy’s Seafood Factory, 6 p.m.

Friday, April 11
Champagne & Seafood Guide, 12-3 p.m.
Enjoy champagne and a delicious seafood lunch aboard the Solaris. Featuring a dockside reception and four course pairing menu.

Wine Seminar, 4 p.m.
Join John McFadden, Director of Fine Wine & Education for Southern Wine & Spirits of North Florida, for a fun, yet educational, evening of food and wine pairing exercises. Taste four different grape varieties that will be paired with a small taste of fruit, assorted cheese, meat and chocolate.

Grand Wine Tasting, 5-8 p.m. 
The pouring of hundreds of domestic and international wines makes for a grand event, and offers a rare opportunity to learn about the finest appellations from major producing countries in all varieties, styles and price ranges.
Location: The Village of Baytowne Wharf

Interact with the region’s hottest chefs, while sampling foods to pair with wine.

The preview event to the Grand Wine Tasting. Sample rare vintages and interact with vintners. Enjoy lunch aboard the Solaris and bypass the line to enter the festival.
