Sandestin’s Marina Bar & Grill is a Treasure for Guests

If you want some magic and a special experience in your day or early evening, try Sandestin’s Marina Bar & Grill.  Located at the Baytowne Marina overlooking the Choctawhatchee Bay, this is a treasure for all ages.

Picture yourself with a nautical view with majestic boats while and enjoying a pleasant, yet rustic, Ernst Hemmingway-like spot, which is frequented by guests and long time residents alike.

Pull up a chair and relax inside or outside.  This charming location is a great spot for weekend breakfasts, a hot or cold beverage of your choice, and lunch and early dinner any day of the week.

Breakfast is served Saturdays and Sundays from 8 to 11 a.m.  Among the traditional favorites are farm fresh organic eggs, the hearty Marina Southern Skillet or a convenient breakfast sandwich.   For those wanting a healthier start to their day, try the seasonal fresh fruit plate with the delicious banana bread.

The lunch and dinner menu features the a Gulf Coast Seafood Sampler with coconut shrimp, crab cakes and conch fritters, a popular grilled Florida grouper sandwich with Cajun remoulade, steak sandwich, a “po-boy” wrap and salads with fun additions including chicken, steak and seafood.

On Fridays, Saturdays and other occasions, the Marina Bar and Grill features its special Shrimp Boil.   According to columnist Mr. Charles Siskin, “We gorged on a variety of foods including the Louisiana Shrimp Boil which is a weekend (Friday and Saturday night) special. This is a tasty platter of shrimp, sausage, corn-on-the-cob and roasted red potatoes.”

“We topped it off with what I call an embarrassment of riches, the ‘Marina Brownie Sundae’ that lived up to its name of decadent. It consisted of ice cream, brownie, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and my hands down favorite, M&Ms,” Mr. Siskin reported in a recent article.

Sunset Celebrations

One of the many things that makes the Marina Bar & Grill extra charming – especially during the months of November and December – are the sunsets over the Choctawhatchee Bay, just before the 5 p.m. hour.

To celebrate the end of each day, the staff sounds a canon at sunset.  In addition, a family or person is selected each day to ring the Marina’s Sunset Bell.

To be a sunset bell ringer, please call the Marina Bar & Grill at 267-7778.  Bell ringers will be selected on a first come first serve basis, with the exception of a birthday or anniversary.  Check out the blackboard to see who is the luck individual on any given day.

The Marina Bar & Grill also offers drink specials each afternoon and early evening to toast these magnificent sunsets

Toasts are also made and a complimentary beverage will be awarded to the person who earns the lowest score at all of Sandestin’s golf courses; as well as the winner of the round robin tennis for that day.

At the Marina Bar & Grill you can catch up on the local gossip, hear what kind of fish were caught, watch your favorite sports game, find out who won what, and see the smiles on people of all ages.   An experience at the Sandestin area won’t be complete without feeling the magic of this special spot on the Bay.
