On Saturday, April 28, 2018, enjoy a unique opportunity to hear a compelling combination of inspirational and innovative stories from three unique people of action. In turn, each speaker will share their story in a moderated, TED-style format followed by an opportunity for attendees to engage the speakers in a questions and answers session.
Aimee Copeland - Inspirational Speaker, Therapist, Flesh-eating Bacteria Survivor
Aimee Copeland is a 29-year-old psychotherapist and community advocate. In May of 2012 a tragic zip lining accident led to the amputations of Aimee's left leg, right foot, and both hands. Aimee also directs a 501( C )(3), Aimee Copeland Foundation. Aimee's goal is to create accessible opportunities for individuals of all ages and abilities to enjoy outdoor recreation and other holistic therapeutic options.
Dr. Pinar Keskinocak, Georgia Tech - Co-founder and Director, Center for Health and Humanitarian Systems
Pinar Keskinocak is the William W. George Chair and Professor, and co-founder and director of the Center for Health and Humanitarian Systems at Georgia Tech. She also serves as the College of Engineering ADVANCE Professor, and interim Associate Dean for Faculty Development and Scholarship. Dr. Keskinocak’sresearch focuses on the applications of quantitative methods and analytics to have a positive impact in society, particularly in healthcare and humanitarian systems.
Brigadier General (ret) Stewart Rodeheaver - Founder, Vizitech USA
Brigadier General (ret) Stewart Rodeheaver served in the U.S. Army for 38 years. His tours included Central America, North Africa, and the Middle East, including a three-year command tour of Task Force Lightning. While in Iraq he commanded 50 percent of the city of Baghdad and all of southern Iraq, including the Triangle of Death and the Syrian border. He earned several Awards for Excellence for his units and commands due to his focus on experiential learning and adding virtual, problem-based learning to the Army training program. This experience became the catalyst for the founding of AR and VR systems company Vizitech USA.
