Sandestin Premieres the 2019 Sandestin RUN/SUP Challenge

First RUN/SUP Scheduled for September 21, 2019
Miramar Beach, Fla (September 12, 2019) - The Sandestin RUN/SUP Challenge will hold its inaugural competition on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Participants will complete a 1 mile run from Sandestin’s Baytowne Marina to the nature trails at Jolee Island and back where participants will transition to paddleboard a 1-mile course in the Choctawhatchee Bay ending back at the Marina. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest male, female and youth (14 and under).
“For over 33 years, Sandestin held an annual triathlon each fall and this year we have chosen to mix it up and launch the annual Sandestin RUN/SUP Competition,” stated Jason Draughn, Director of Recreation for Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. “We are incredibly lucky to have Baytowne Marina, Jolee Island and Sandestin, all situated on the Choctawhatchee Bay, offering an amazing backdrop for this type of event.”
In addition to the RUN/SUP Challenge, participants and fans will be able to participate in a silent auction which will include items such as a YOLO bike, New Orleans Saints Swag and more. All proceeds from the silent auction will benefit Sandestin Foundation for Kids whose goal it is to make a meaningful and positive difference in children’s lives.
